Purpose

CASEL's Framework

CASEL's Framework

The Three Hearts Curriculum was designed with the current educator in mind. The classroom teacher who is busy with ELA, MATH, Social Science, and Science curriculums they have to teach as well as manage classroom behaviors. This curriculum is designed to give educators a guide on how to teach certain difficult topics to children in Pre-K - 8th grade classrooms, be empathic towards others, and see things from other people’s perspectives.

Bloom's Taxonomy

CASEL's Framework

Illinois State Standards

Bloom's Taxonomy was utilized when designing the learning objectives for each grad level. For Pre-K, learning objectives focused on understanding the topic. For Kindergarten it bridged into understanding and examining. Frist grade bridges into understanding, examining, and applying. Second grade bridges into understanding, examining, applying, and creating. 3rd-5th grades bridges into examining, applying, and creating. Finally 6th - 8th grade bridges into applying and creating.

Teacher Testimonials

St. John's Lutheran School

"I always read, Our Class is A Family at the beginning of the school year...I usually do this writing prompt and talking about how we can be kind to our peers and teachers like a family. Lots of options and ways to present it."  - Ms. Yerkes, Pre-K Teacher

"I love that it's book based and incorporates a Biblical perspective. I also love that the curriculum really focuses on the JOY model of Christian relationships - Jesus, others (beyond our sheltered in-building existence) yourself. Too often as Christians we fail to have an "out there" perspective or willingness to help in the Jesus would want us to." - Ms. Gahgan, 2nd Grade Teacher.

I think we all have empathy. We may not have enough courage to display it.
